Run and Buy: The Slip Dress

En: Zara has me totally sold on a slip dress. After seing the above image, I started searching everywhere like crazy. And, luckily, it paid off yesterday, in a thrift store. The one I found needs altering (as it is long and plain and I want it short, with lace at the bottom) and it was meant as a sleeping gown, but it has the perfectly thin, silky, spaghetti straps and just the right vibe. I'm dying to have it ready and wear it under a black trench coat. So, if you're on the hunt for one too, check out as many thrift shops as possible. But in case you're an online shooper kind of girl, I made a little selection below.

Ro: Zara m-a convins ca am nevoie de o rochie ca cele de mai sus. Si am cautat una in disperare in ultimele saptamani. Ieri, am fost norocoasa si am gasit o rochie neagra intr-un second hand (de fapt e un fel de camasa de noapte) si desi are nevoie de modificari (e lunga si as vrea sa o scurtez si sa ii adaug dantela in partea de jos), bretelutele subtiri si satinul fin o fac extrem de potrivita pentru toamna asta. Mor de nerabdare sa o port sub un trenci si daca v-a innebunit si pe voi trendul asta, va recomand cu caldura SHurile. Sau, daca va place sa cumparati online, am alcatuit mai jos un colaj cu sugestii.

Wish I Was Wearing: The Slip Dress

En: I love everything about this look: the pink cardigan, the slip dress, the lace up sandals and, especially, how it all comes together. I tried to recreate the look below but if you're searching for a slip dress, I highly recommend thrift shop hunting as an alternative. That's where I got mine (I believe it used to be a nightgown) and now I'm searching for the perfect lace strip to add at the bottom. As soon as it's done, I'm gonna be rocking a version of the above look!

Ro: Imi place tot la tinuta asta: cardiganul roz, rochia delicata, sandalele cu siret si, mai ales, felul in care se imbina toate. Am incercat sa o recreez mai jos, dar daca sunteti in cautare de o rochita similara, va recomand o raita prin magazinele second hand si... multa rabdare. Eu acolo am dat peste una (care cred ca era folosita ca si camasa de noapte), iar acum incerc sa gasesc si o banda de dantela pe care sa o adaug. De indata ce e gata, urmeaza si poze cu o versiune proprie a lookului de mai sus!

Thinking of...Back to School

En: Ever since I was a child, every autumn meant getting new clothes for back to school. And although there were only a few places to shop in my town and I had a fairly limited budget (and had to consider what my mom would actually purchase and what she would refuse to get me), it was thrilling. It was the kind of thing I was looking forward to at the end of summer.
Now, if I go a month without buying something new I feel weird. And with the sales just ending (and me having bought more than I should have), I feel like I should be on a shopping ban for a few months (read weeks - no way I can go months without shopping). But how do I do that during september? With all the new stuff showing up? With all my cravings (including a tartan skirt, a slip dress and a pair of cut out boots I can't live without? Maybe I'll cross a few things off my list and then I can go on a shopping ban?!

Ro: Inca de pe vremea cand eram in scoala generala, fiecare toamna insemna haine noi pentru un nou inceput. Si chiar daca nu aveam decat vreo 3 magazine in orasul meu natal, un buget limitat (si trebuie sa tin cont de parerea neinduratoare a mamei), eram extrem de entuziasmata. Era lucrul pe care il asteptam cu nerabdare la sfarsitul fiecarei veri.
Acum, e o minune daca trece o luna fara sa imi cumpar ceva nou. Si cum reducerile tocmai s-au terminat (si portmoneul meu s-a golit chiar daca nu intentionam asta), cred ca ar fi cazul sa fac o pauza de la cumparaturi. Dar cum sa fac asta tocmai in luna septembrie cu toate noile colectii? Si cu lista mea interminabila de dorinte (mai sus am selectat doar cateva dintre ele)? Desi ma consum intre sentimentul de vinovatie (prea multe cumparaturi vara asta) si dorinta, cred ca ar trebui sa tai cate ceva de pe lista mea si doar apoi sa fac o pauza de la cumparat?!
